Term 4 2011

As summer approaches we need to mindful of the effects of heat and dehydration. Please ensure your child has a drink of water and that sunscreen is applied before leaving home (it takes 20 min for sunscreen to become fully effective). Don’t forget to bring a water bottle and slap on a hat.

End of Season Program

The last three weeks for the 2011 winter season are:

Week 14 – 3rd and 4th Sep,
Week 15 – 10th and 11th Sep,
Week 16 – 17th and 18th Sep.

The ‘end of season’ party will be held at Hawker Football Facility on the 24th Sep. The party starts at 10:30am – 11:45am.

All parents will receive an email outlining the arrangements for the party and the form to RSVP your attendance. If you haven’t received an email by the 5th Sep please email the office and the information will be sent to you.

Update 15th April

Firstly, thank you to everyone who participated in our Term 1 program at ANU. The growth in numbers caught us a little off guard but in the end it was good to see so many kids having a good time.
It was sad our last session was cancelled. As it turned out the weather did clear and it may have been possible. It’s always a tough decision to cancel a session when the rain is intermittent.
There is no session this Sunday (17th April) … there will be an opportunity for all players to attend a free session later in the year to make up for the missed session.
Over the next week, the office will be contacting parents for outstanding payments for Term 1. We’re just catching up on notices that we should have sent out a few weeks ago.

Winter Season – starts 7th May
Registrations for Term 2 and 3 is still open. Please don’t leave this too long as we will have to close the books off soon to ensure we have enough coaches. If you register too late we will have to put you on a wait list until we can confirm available coaches. A notice will be sent next week to all those that have registered so far for the winter sessions

No Gungahlin Sessions this winter
Unfortunately the club has not been able to secure a suitable ground in the Gungahlin region for the winter period. We’re sorry it took so long to confirm these details. Therefore those children registered for Gungahlin will be transferred to the Hawker sessions. For those parents who have already registered who don’t wish to attend the Hawker centre, please email the club for a refund.

Looking for Coaches
We are on the look out for people to be coaches this year, they can be a parent, brother or sister or even family friends. Coaches must be 14 years and older. No experience necessary only enthusiasm. The club’s next coach training day is on Saturday 30th April 9am – 10:30am and the indoor courts at ANU. It’s a great way for young coaches to learn while they earn.
